Solar Pool Heating
A pool uses a lot of energy to simply heat it. Probably the most economical use of solar is to heat the pool with it. The reason is that the pool is mostly used in the hottest months of the year and that is when you get the best solar heat.
There are two approaches to solar pool heating. You can use thermal solar panels or photovoltaic panels. Your decision will depend on the area you live. For example, if you live in Arizona, you need a lot less solar power than if you live in Wyoming. The less solar power needed and the more it makes sense to do a thermal solar panel that runs above ground onto the roof. You should note that some people like the photovoltaic panels simply because they like the look of it better than thermal.
In any case, it usually doesn't take a whole lot of photovoltaic panels to heat a pool to the correct temperature.
