Solar Oven
A lot of people, in less developed countries, use solar ovens. They are typically large mirror like parabolas that are made of metal. They concentrate the suns rays for cooking. The process works quite well in hot parts of the day. Some homes are actually using this form of energy to cook in the home. How? The parabola simply is positioned to send energy through a hole in the wall the then reflected by another mirror up onto a cooking surface, in the home.
For developed nations, solar ovens are used for emergency prepardness and for camping. These types of ovens are usually more boxy and have mirror panels that fold out to concentrate the sun's heat.
