Abound Solar
Abound Solar is a company located in Longmont, Colorado. It is a startup company that claims they will be able to make solar panels cheaper than First Solar. That is huge because First Solar is a low cost production leader. Abound is shooting for the cost of less than $1.00 per watt.
Abound Solar thinks that they have an awesome way to produce the solar panels. They will take a piece of glass and turn it into a solar panel, in two hours, or less. That process is unique because it is entirely automated. They have focused on the production aspect and that is what is missing with so many solar companies. Most solar companies look for a new technology and make a breakthrough. Then, they realize they don't have the expertise to put it into automated production and the idea is set aside.
